Hey Oak & Rove supporters,
We've been working diligently with our suppliers since the end of our campaign to bring the Kennedy Weekender to life. But as of late, there are some important updates to share.
Our initial plan was to begin the mass production order shortly after the Lunar New Year, around end of January/Early February. This is one of the more difficult times to place an order, which is why we initially set our delivery date in April—we wanted to make sure we could account for this delay.
With the recent situation involving the coroniavirus, the local government has officially extended the holiday, keeping everything closed in order to prevent further spread of the virus among the community.
At first they pushed back one week with a set reopen date of February 3rd. As a lot of uncertainty around the virus remained, they pushed back again to the 10th, and then again to the 17th. Clearly this is not ideal as we wanted to get started right away, but safety is a major priority in this situation.
The good news is that I have confirmation that the factory will once again slowly start producing this week (Feb. 17th). However, they are being required by their local government to follow very strict health guidelines, including testing all staff, documenting all recent medical records of said staff, and completely sanitizing the factory from the bottom up. Due to this process, things are getting back slowly. Additionally, staff members who have to travel back from outside the region are required to be quarantined for up to 14 days once they return.
Because of this delay, we have no choice but to push back our expected delivery to May and at the latest June. We had set the proper time and expectations for us to be able to produce and deliver by our initial intended delivery, but this virus outbreak was something that could not have been foreseen or predicted.
Obviously, we want to get your bags onto your doorsteps as FAST as possible. We will continue to push our factories forward without compromising on quality, craftsmanship, or safety.

Just wanted to share a few small updates to keep you in the loop as we make progress on building the Kennedy Weekender!
Backerkit surveys are locked
If you've completed your Backerkit surveys then thank you! This allows us to determine which variations and quanitites we need to produce.
We still have about 9 people who have not completed their surveys. If you haven't done this, please check your spam folder as you should have received multiple emails by now.
Lunar New Year Holiday
Since the end of the campaign we've been working hard to finalize our prototype and ensure that the product is the absolute best it can be. That being said, our manufacturing partners are on holiday for the next two to three weeks so factories are shut down. We plan to get the mass production order started shortly after the factory opens back up.

We need these numbers so we can place the order with our manufacturing partners. The faster these get completed, the faster we can get these bags made.

Just wanted to give a quick update and let everyone know that we just sent out the Backerkit survey to all backers!
The main function of this survey is to allow you to select your zipper preference. You also have the opportunity to add-on a Kennedy Weekender at an insane discount that is only available to prior backers. The current discount you see will never be offered again after this.
It is SUPER important that you fill out your survey ASAP!
The faster we get these responses, the faster we can determine our order quanities, and the faster we can get these bags in your hands.

Hello Oak & Rove Supporters,
I wanted to give a big thank you to everyone who supported our campaign during the last month. Thanks to YOU we surpassed 200% in funding and can now make the Kennedy Weekender a reality.
So, what's next?
1) We need to wait for Indiegogo to release funds to our account so that we can begin mass production. This funds transfer process can take up to two weeks.
2) We need each backer to select their Kennedy Weekender zipper preference. We've teamed up with Backerkit to help make this process as smooth as possible.
With Backerkit's software, we'll be sending out a survey in the first week of December. This survey will allow you to select your zipper preference (if you ordered the Kennedy), as well as finalize/change shipping details.
The faster we have our backers fill these out, the quicker we can begin production. We're in the process of getting this all set up, so please bear with us and keep an eye out for this survey. We'll send another update on here to notify you it has been sent.
